The iThemba Life implementation tool enables healthcare providers in the laboratory to perform back-end data operations that allow them to run program implementation for the iThemba Life solution. The implementation tool provides authenticated real-time remote access to the system for data operations, data fixes and reviewing result-related behavioral data (e.g. users viewing results).
The iThemba Life implementation tool will soon incorporate an automated export and reporting system to enable nurses and physicians to manage patients who are using the iThemba Life patient app and tailor interventions.
With the expansion of antiretroviral treatment (ART) programs, the need to keep people living with HIV (PLWHIV) engaged in care over time is critical to attain and sustain HIV elimination goals. iThemba Life solution supports HIV-positive adults by delivering results for viral load (VL) testing directly into their smartphones and supports Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) for HIV-exposed infants by sending notifications to their caregivers that diagnostic test results are available. With the use of the iThemba Life patient app and implementation tool, significant improvements are possible to address critical challenges in HIV disease elimination.
